Field Trip: Sandy Hook
Sandy Hook is a wonderful place during fall migration, with woodland habitat, and birds on both the bayside and sea side, providing a nice mix of birding opportunities. This time of year should be a transition from seeing the last of the warm-weather birds before they move on and seeing the first of the early winter arrivals. Waterfowl should be arriving on both the bay and ocean. There is always hope for a rarity to show up at Sandy Hook in fall.
Meet near the bathrooms at Lot B, ~0.5 miles beyond the entrance booth at 9AM.
